Annual Budgets
Fiscal years run from July 1 - June 30 of the following year for local governments in Virginia, including Damascus. Town Council and staff typically begin the budgeting process in February before July 1 of the same year that the budget takes affect - work sessions are generally held every other week during these months and are posted in the Public Notices each year.

Audited Financial Statements
The Town's financial statements are compiled and audited each for each fiscal year, and the auditors generally present the final audited statements to the Town Council at the beginning of the following calendar year (EX: FY21 statements presented February 2022).
